Game of Thrones Season 7 Death Predictions

So, while our friends across the pond may have already got to experience the first episode of the new season of Game of Thrones, us Brits have to wait until tomorrow (Monday) night… which sucks!!! To see us through, I decided to compile a list of the characters I believe are going to die in the coming season and why. And trust me, there are some good ones too. Without further ado, let’s get stuck in.

Spoilers, I guess, but not really

  1. Beric Dondarrion

So while many got excited, and somewhat confused, when they saw this image of Beric in the trailers as they believed the flaming sword had something to do with Azor Ahai. But worry not, this is not the case, especially since in the books, Beric is actually dead as part of a story line that was omitted from the show.  Beric is known for being brought back to life by Thoros of Myr and the Red God so I believe that he is going to finally give his life for another character, similarly to how he goes in the books.

2. Tormund Giantsbane

I know, I know, I am just as sad about this one as you. We all love Tormund. He’s hilarious but not really necessary. He’s expendable and the story could go on without him, as much as his presence would be missed. I have no doubt that multiple people who head North of the Wall with Jon won’t make it back South and that includes Tormund. However, the main reason I think Tormund will kick the bucket is because I think both Jon and Dany are going to lose someone from their ranks which leads us to…

3. Grey Worm

This is also a painful one. Grey Worm has been nothing but loyal to Dany and we know that his budding romance with Missandei is going to get steamy this season. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s going to make it out alive, though this is one I’m less sure of. If he is doomed, he’ll probably go battling the Lannister army at Casterly Rock, maybe facing Jaime?

4.  Ellaria Sand/ Any Other Sand Snake

Lets be real for a moment… The Dorne story line sucked! Which sucks because Dorne was so important in the books and it was condensed so much that they only purpose it serves is helping Dany get to Westeros. It would not surprise me on bit if one or all of the Sand Snakes (Oberyn’s bastard daughters and their mother) died in this season and if it does happen, it will most likely be down to Mad Queen Cersei. This is one I’m not too cut up about.

5. Yara Greyjoy

From the promotional trailers, it seems as though Euron (Theon and Yara’s murderous uncle) is going to attack Dany’s fleet and I wouldn’t be surprised if Yara falls victim to this attack. After all, after Euron was crowned the King of the Iron Islands, his first action was to go and kill his niece and nephew. If not, there have been pictures of Yara in chains walking through, what looks like King’s Landing so, if this is true and not stages to throw us off the trail, perhaps Yara is an offering to Cersei from Euron who hopes to form an alliance with the queen.

6. Cersei Lannister

We were all worried that Dany was going to go crazy like her father; the Mad King Aerys, when we should have been keeping our eye on Cersei. Similar to the Mad King’s plan of blowing up King’s Landing with wildfire, Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor, killing a lot of main characters. The only thing that kept her grounded was her children and, after Tommen’s suicide last season, she no longer has that and she has gone full blown Mad Queen. While I think she’ll die, I think it will be at the very end of the season after we see just how evil she truly is and I really believe, and hope, that Jaime is the one to kill her like he killed the Mad King.

7. Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger)

This is one I am very certain of and one I am actively happy about. Littlefinger has been stirring the pot of Westeros for far too long and, right now, he is trying to twist Sansa Stark against her half brother, sorry, cousin, Jon Snow/The King in the North. My hope is that, when Jon leaves on business, either Sansa or, more likely Arya, will kill Littlefinger and end his reign of terror. The thing that makes me so sure about this is that in promotional images of the Starks, Arya is pictured wearing Littlefinger’s Valyrian steel dagger. How else would she have got it?

Well, that’s it folks. There are other characters who aren’t part of the main cast but I wanted to keep this list short. Remember to check back in in seven weeks to see how I did, I know I will be. As always, thanks for reading guys and I’ll see you next time.
